Hello Grizzly folks!
I promised I would tell the Grizzly community about the 9mm Luger Grizzly conversion unit, so now here is my account.
I reeceived the unit several weeks ago, but was not able to shoot it until recently.
First here is a picture of the unit compared to the normal Grizzly:
And now the unit installed:
The vendor told me that a company made them back in the 90ies and he had sold roughly 200 of them.
It is a 1911 design just lengthened to fit on the Grizzly receiver.
The finish is somehow rough, not bluing but some kind of paint or varnish.
There are no markings on the whole system except for the proof firing markings.
The magazine is just as tylergnut suggested, a 9mm mag with aluminium hunch screwed to its back..
The barrel is not as thick as the standard Grizzly barrels, so that should explain the need for a different slide.
The bushing is a normal 1911 Govt style with a brazed insert.
I was able to test different factory loads and it was reasonably accurate for my skill.
Should anyone be interested or would like to have other pictures feel free to tell me!
Thats it for now I hope I was able to show you something new!

When I invented the Grizzly .45 Win Mag Multi-caliber Semiautomatic Pistol, I completed Conversion Units for about 10 calibers for that firearm, one of which was for the 9mm Luger cartridge.
I had conceived, invented, and was issued the US Patent (#4,253,377)for the Multi-caliber Conversion Units for the 1911-A1 Pistol BEFORE I conceived the Grizzly Pistol. In fact, the Grizzly Pistol was an "adjunct technology" spawned by the Multi-caliber Conversion Unit Technology I had previously conceived.
I believe LAR Mfg. Co. offered the 9mm Luger Conversion Unit for the Grizzly Pistol for a very short time under my License with them. I believe they offered the 9mm Luger Multi-caliber Conversion Unit for the 1911-A1 Pistol for a short period also.

Ulrich,
It is great to finally see this unit... how interesting. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Urlich,
I have a 2 tone LAR and I live in Texas- I took it to the range last year and wiped it down after I shot it. It still rusted on the slide in a few places- it made me sick seeing it. I'm touing with the idea of dura-coat in semi gloss black for my slide. I'll let you know how it turns out if the finish on the 9m/m conversion finally gets to you. I wouldn't mind one of those conversions.
Hi Tyler- I am interested how your duracoat project turns out.
If you are really interested I can give you the adress of the arms dealer I bought it from. I do not know if he still has any 9mm conversions left.
It took an awful long time to get it shipped - almost three months. And it is more pricy than buying a whole grizzly on gunbroker.
The prices for weapons in Europe are insane compared to those in the US.
