Custom calibers

I have two .45 mag. and two .50 AE Grizzlies and was wondering if any one knows if the .45 mag. chassis are capable of withstanding the effects of the .475 Wildey, as I would like to modify one.

The conversion sounds very interesting. If it is possible, I would certainly be interested in having one of my Mark V's converted.

Another off-subject item...
I have a .357 mag version I bought new in about 1989 and haven't touched in several years. It has a hard chrome fram & blue slide in addition to the chrome compensator. I would be interested in a 45 Win mag kit for it, in case anybody out there has one they will part with.

The MK I chassie is likely to hold the .475 Wildey, but the barrel, maybe not. (too thin) A MK V barrel in .357,10mm, or .45 may be able to be reboared to .475 and chambered to 475 Wildey. You would probably need the .45 extractor out of the MK I put in the MK V . The MK V magazine would should work with a little tighting of the lips....Then again the 50 AE will do anything the 475 will and then some... 475 brass is scarce but can be made from 284 win.

45 Win mag ammo has been historically produced during the first quarter of the year by Winchester.

I picked up a barrel in this cal. from Jim from TX(now in OK) but never put it in the gun. Its made from a 5.4" MK V barrel. At that length, you would lose a lot of energy from this round. Kind of a waste, really, just get a Wildey if you must shoot that cal.

I sent a Mk I to Jack Huntington to have it modified to .475 Wildey.
The main problem was modifying the magazines without ruining them. Jack sent it to a person in Mich. to do that work and when he get them back he will send the finished pistol back to me.
It cost me a little over eight hundred dollars.

I am the one who started this.

Modifying the magazines was the sticking point.
When they are finished he will send it back to me.
Cost was a little over eight hundred dollars.
